The Whip And The Rod

ONLY THE BEST FOR A GIRL: SIX OF THE BEST FOR A BOY! For pretty blonde American exchange student Laura Wall, life at Linton Abbey is an Enid Blyton whirl of hockey, ponies and midnight feasts; all washed down with lashings of ginger beer! For her compatriot, sullen spoilt rich-boy Howard J Franklin III, it's just the lashings. And so, together with his spiteful new schoolboy friends, he plots a terrible revenge... Trouble at Linton Abbey is a breathless tale of haughty girls, beastly boys, and some very sore bottoms indeed! With six original plates by Curtus.

An excerpt from the book:

Duckworth soon found that however hard he tried to please her; however neatly he made her bed, and however hard he polished her shoes, she always managed to find fault with what he did, and she always--without fail--reported him for it. The result was that once a week, at least, he would find himself summoned up to some office or other, and stood to attention to be told off, and stripped of his fifth former's grey flannel long trousers and sent back to his young taskmistress with a smarting backside, clothed in a pair of junior boy's shorts. And as if that weren't enough, young Miss Nicola was always simply bursting to hear all about what had happened. "And then what did she say?" she would say. "And did she pull them down? What, right down to your ankles? And you had to bend over what, and hold onto what? Go over to that chair and show me how you had to do it. And then she hit you how many times, with her what? And was it very hard? How hard, exactly, would you say? Really? Gosh! And what sort of noise did it make when it hit your bum, and what sort of noise did you make? And did you ask her to stop? How many times? Did you really beg her? Say it now, exactly like you said it to her. And what did she say then? And did you cry a lot, and did you want to rub it afterwards?" And so on and so forth; and he knew, all the time, just what it would all be leading towards. What it was leading towards was. "...And can I have a look?"
